RPES - Fabric made from recycled plastic

The RPES fabric is polyester fabric that has been made from recycled plastic instead of using the traditional manufacturing processes. Regular polyester fibers are usually derived from petroleum.

Not only does the process of recycling plastic bottles ensure less plastic end up in nature, but it also means we require fewer ressources than it takes to produce new (”virgin") polyester fabric.

How is RPES made?

The plastic bottles are pelleted, cleaned and made into granulate and finally into fibres to weave new material from.

Benefits of RPES - recycled plastic polyester

- CO2 emissions are reduced by 50%

- A water reduction of 70%

- Energy consumption reduced by 70%
